Scruffles Wigglebottom Skunk smells the roses.

Scruffles Wigglebottom the Skunk was appropriately named. He is forever rooting around in a garden somewhere and his coat is rarely tidy. But he doesn't mind one bit because, oh, how he loves his gardens! If he could, he would spend every hour of every day watching seed turn to sprout turn to flower, and back again. He cultivates some of his gardens for food, some for medicine, and some simply for their beauty.

Today, though, Scruffles wanted to share one love with another. He spent all morning brushing out his big, bushy tail, then dabbed on some floral water and headed to his most beautiful-of-beautiful gardens. To Scruffles' delight, his wild roses were in full bloom, verdant and lush. He had been counting the days. He carefully snipped a bouquet and waited patiently for his special someone to happen by. Hoping, with fingers crossed so very tightly, that his
special someone will think he is pretty special, too.
